Soapcakes – Simple pure ingredients to keep your skin naturally clean and moisturised all made in Cornwall.
Soapcakes, handmade and of the highest quality and luxuriously lathery and above all as natural as soap can be, made using only the best quality ethical and natural ingredients from sustainable sources. Made in Cornwall, just a few miles from the sea, where the fresh sea air breezes over the fields, where the wildlife is abundant and the birds’ song can be heard all day long.
All soapcakes use either herbs or flowers. All the smells of the soaps are from essential oils which are used not just for their scent but for their properties – be they healing, antiseptic (Tea Tree in Dirty & Germy), good for chapped skin (Patchouli in Patchouli & Hemp Soapcake), gentle for faces (Chamomile in Chamomile Tea Facecake), cooling (Peppermint in Peppermint Patty, created as a mansoap), good for mature skin and wrinkles (Geranium in Geranium & Rosehip Soapcake).
Our soapcakes have NO NASTY ingredients. No parabens or SLS, no synthetic colours or fragrances. The soaps are very gentle and many of my customers have found a vast improvement in eczema or itchy or dry skin conditions since using my soaps. Not that I am making a medical claim, but it makes sense that by using a good natural product it will be good for your skin. The fats and oils used in the soapcakes are olive oil, coconut oil, vegetable fat (shortening), dripping, sunflower oil, palm oil – all of these are edible which can only be a good thing! Each soapcake is made to a different recipe and have different lathering qualities and textures, some are Vegan, others contain beeswax (from local hives) and dripping.
Many of our soapcakes and other products are on sale in the EDEN PROJECT gift shop, at their request all soaps sold at the EDEN PROJECT are PALM OIL FREE. We have changed the recipes of all my soaps to eliminate Palm Oil from the list of ingredients that I use. The soaps that we sell may still contain palm oil, check the list of ingredients for each soap if it is an ingredient that you feel strongly about. We have stopped using Palm Oil now and soon all the soaps that we sell will be free of this controversial product.
